Overview

The User Experience Bachelor of Science curriculum at Full Sail University is composed of visual and user experience design courses to offer a broad range of exposure to the theory, techniques, tools, and software in these design disciplines. Students in this program will learn to interpret data to represent it graphically. They will also create user interface prototypes driven by case studies and utilize industry-standard software to visualize and bring their concepts to life. The program provides students experience with collaborative, research, design, and analytics tools commonly used in UX workflows. These include Figma, FigJam, Miro, Mural, Slack, Trello, Zoom, Adobe Express, Canva, Xtensio, Behance, Tableau, Google Analytics, and Ludi. Use of AI-assisted tools such as ChatGPT supports research, brainstorming, data analysis, and workflow efficiency while maintaining each student's human-centered design judgment. The knowledge and skills gained throughout the coursework will equip students to develop and present human-centered designs tailored to various sectors within the interactive media industries. Graduates will complete a UX portfolio of their work showcasing research, prototypes, and case studies, assembled to professional standards and primed for presentation to employers and clients.

Objective
Bachelor's Objective

The User Experience Bachelor of Science degree program curriculum explores theory and concepts of user behavior as well as the applied practice of the tools and techniques within user experience. Across the curriculum, students build core technical competencies, including UX research, interaction and visual design, information architecture, prototyping, and usability testing, and apply these skills through hands-on project-based work. Students will create and iterate designs and prototypes for functional, engaging, interactive media interfaces across multiple platforms. To develop design sensibilities, students will participate in the analysis and critique of design approaches in both contemporary and student-created interactive media products. Upon completion of this degree program, students will be equipped with the design, research, and prototyping skills required in the user experience and user interface design fields. Coursework and training in design, communication, and analytics will prepare graduates to enter the dynamic and changing environments of interactive media studios, digital product teams, and other user experience settings. Students also build fluency with current user experience tools and workflows, including AI-assisted tools that serve as a complement to their design judgment and technique.
