The Media Communications Bachelor of Science curriculum at Full Sail University provides students the extensive knowledge to navigate and contribute to the field of media communications and to employ new media communication technologies. Students in this program will survey critical approaches to contemporary media-related issues and communication theory while working within a project-based learning curriculum. Students develop their abilities in content development, multimedia production, video and audio editing, visual communication, and digital storytelling. Students will work with industry-standard tools, including Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Audition, and other digital tools included in the Adobe Creative Cloud, along with AI-assisted tools such as Adobe Firefly, ChatGPT, and Suno. Immersed in a supportive environment that fosters the development of the communication strategies and skills necessary to succeed in today’s media industries, students are prepared for a wide variety of careers in media and its associated fields. Students will graduate with a professional media and communications portfolio, fully prepared to showcase to prospective employers and clients.

Objective
Bachelor's Objective

The Media Communications Bachelor of Science degree program prepares students to recognize, embrace, and strategically manage continual changes in the media landscape. Across the curriculum, students build core media communication strategies based on design principles, media research, and technical competencies, including content development, multimedia production, video and audio editing, visual communication, and digital storytelling. Students will acquire and apply the skills needed to best utilize today’s media, share knowledge and information, and maximize audience response. Through progressive projects in a variety of courses, students will practice proper research and storytelling methods, articulate abstract concepts, and demonstrate their media communication skills. Changes within the dynamic media industry are deliberated and reflected throughout the degree program’s curriculum. Students will build fluency with the current media communications industry tools and workflows, including AI-assisted tools applied as a support to their editorial judgment, never a replacement for it.
