Our Live Event Production curriculum provides you with practical and technical skills to prepare for a career in the live-event field of your choice—whether it is the concert and touring market, corporate productions, or other creative domains with production expertise at their core. You will become immersed in the world of contemporary audio, lighting, and video technology. You will learn the theories and principles behind these components and receive an extensive and immersive experience with a wide assortment of gear used by professionals in the industry. After building competence with production concepts in an educational setting, you will apply your skills in real-world scenarios by participating in specific event productions. You will develop the toolkit needed to navigate live events from various technical, creative, and professional perspectives. In addition to gaining live event production skills, you will also have courses focusing on physical science, professional writing, leadership, and how to prepare yourself for a career in live-event production.
Objective
Associate of Applied Science The goal of the Live Event Production Associate of Applied Science degree program is to provide you with the focused knowledge and understanding of live-event production needed to qualify for entry-level audio, video, or lighting positions in corporate audiovisual, location audio, broadcasts, streaming, and live-event production environments. In addition to technical proficiency and creative development, your education will help you develop critical-thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills that will provide a solid set of career-focused foundational competencies. This career-focused education will equip you with the tools to help sustain a long and productive professional career in the entertainment and media industries.
