The Instructional Design & Technology Master of Science at Full Sail University prepares students to design engaging, evidence-based learning experiences using instructional design principles, media, and emerging technologies. The curriculum offers hands-on training in the dynamic media skills and technologies used to transform traditional instruction into inspirational and interactive engagement, tailoring the experience to meet the needs of the learner. Students will work with industry-standard applications, including Adobe Captivate, along with AI-assisted tools.
Throughout the program, students will learn to design learner-centered instructional experiences by integrating multimedia, interactive technologies, storytelling strategies, media creation tools, and AI-assisted workflows. They will create engaging, accessible, and effective learning environments grounded in instructional design principles and informed professional judgment. Students will also explore various learning theories, discover applications of different motivational techniques, and navigate creating compelling and inspirational content for online curricula. The content-creation skills gained will prepare students for entry or advancement through the career fields of instructional design, training, education, and online learning. As the field increasingly adopts AI-assisted tools, students will learn to apply them as a support to their instructional-design planning. Through project-based experiences, students will create instructional solutions that mirror current professional practice and will construct a portfolio of work suitable for presentation to employers and clients.
The Instructional Design and Technology Master of Science degree program enables students to analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate effective learning experiences across corporate, educational, and digital learning environments. Students will cultivate their research, analysis, and evaluation skills along with core technical competencies in learning design, multimedia development, and learning management systems.
Through hands-on project-based work, students will design and produce engaging instructional experiences using multimedia, instructional technologies, and evidence-based design practices. Coursework will also hone students' writing, time-management, and team-building skills to assist in the production of engaging instructional content, innovative media design, and captivating technology projects for today’s learner. In addition, students will build fluency with contemporary instructional design workflows, including AI-assisted tools, while strengthening their professional judgment, learner-centered decision-making, collaboration, and evaluation practices.
