Overview

The Creative Writing Master of Fine Arts at Full Sail University equips students for a career in narrative and multimedia content creation. The ability to tell a story through the use of words and images and distribute narratives through a variety of media formats are now standard skills required of multimedia creators in production companies. Across the entertainment and media industries and beyond, professional writers and media creators are essential in crafting the compelling stories and writing elements needed to captivate today’s demanding media clients, consumers, and audiences. The Creative Writing Master of Fine Arts extends the opportunity to not only perfect students' script, screen, and story writing abilities but also to incorporate visual storytelling, narrative structures, character development into their projects.

The degree program fosters the creative writing and multimedia content production skills and knowledge required across professional roles in the entertainment media industries. Students will work with industry-standard tools, including Final Draft and Adobe Creative Cloud, along with AI-assisted tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Suno, and Gemini. In addition, students will further develop leadership, project-management, and research skills; sharpen their technical prowess; conduct and utilize industry research; and ultimately market their final creative portfolio. As the field increasingly adopts AI-assisted tools, students will learn to apply them as a support to their editorial and creative judgment, not as a replacement for it. Students will graduate with a portfolio of original written work, assembled to professional standards and suitable for presentation to employers and clients.
