The Information Technology Associate of Science curriculum at Full Sail University provides students with a foundation in the virtualization of systems and networks as well as the emerging technologies used to handle and deliver media-rich information. The curriculum equips students with a basis in information technology, operating systems, and networking and also explores virtualization, scripting, cloud networking, and information security. Students will collaborate with leading cloud-computing platforms and tools, including AWS and Microsoft Azure, as well as trusted AI-assisted tools widely utilized in business.
Throughout the program, students will apply the IT concepts and technical skills they have learned to hands-on projects involving operating systems, networking, virtualization, scripting, application servers, and information security. Projects are completed in collaborative environments that are modeled after industry workflows, offering practical experience in configuring, supporting, securing, and troubleshooting IT systems. As the field increasingly adopts AI-assisted tools, students will learn to apply them as a support to their critical thinking. Graduates will have developed a portfolio of projects demonstrating foundational skills in configuring, supporting, and troubleshooting operating systems, networks, virtualized environments, and IT infrastructure, assembled to professional standards and primed for pursuing further education and employment opportunities.
Across the Information Technology Associate of Science degree program, students will build core technical competencies in networking, systems administration, virtualization, cloud infrastructure, and security, and will apply them through comprehensive project-based work. Students will learn industry best practices as well as develop the technical, problem-solving, and professional skills needed to support and manage modern IT environments. The goal of the program is to develop students' ability to virtualize information via distributed networks and the cloud, preparing them for entry-level positions as server administrators, network administrators, application-systems specialists, hardware technicians, technical trainers, and a variety of other positions in the information technology industries. Students will also gain experience with current information technology tools and workflows, including AI-assisted tools applied as professional aids that support, not replace, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
