Students who fail a course are required to retake the course. If a student withdraws from the University prior to graduation, all weeks of attendance (even repeats for academic failure) will be counted toward the weeks of attendance for percentage of tuition owed. Students will be assessed a course retake fee of $889 for each course they are required to, or choose to, repeat, effective May 1, 2025.
Students must complete each course within five attempts or face dismissal from the program. Course attempts include the original grade for the course, each repeat of the course, and withdrawals from the course. While students are required to repeat a failed course, they may also choose to repeat courses to achieve a higher grade in accordance with the Grade Forgiveness policy.
There are courses in certain programs that students must complete within two attempts, or they will be dismissed from the program. This information is provided in the Course Section of the catalog and Full Sail One.
A request for an additional attempt may be permitted through an appeal to the Program Director based on extenuating circumstances.
