The Data Science graduate certificate program at Full Sail University provides students with advanced knowledge of computer science topics, including the processes, algorithms, and tools data science professionals use to extract knowledge and visualize data. Students will use industry-standard tools that support data science, software engineering, and applied research. Through hands-on project-based learning, students will gain experience with modern programming environments, data analysis and visualization tools, and software development workflows to build and evaluate data-driven solutions. Students will also develop proficiency with scholarly research resources and collaboration platforms that support technical research and scientific communication. Students will develop a small project by utilizing integrated development environments, software libraries, visualization packages, and extended reality to demonstrate their ideas. The knowledge and skills gained throughout this graduate certificate program will increase students’ understanding of how to prepare, analyze, and visualize large data sets. As AI-assisted tools become increasingly integrated into data science, software engineering, and research, students will learn to use them responsibly, ethically, and effectively to support their technical expertise, critical thinking, research, and professional judgment. The objective of the Data Science graduate certificate program is to provide students with foundational knowledge in the theory and techniques utilized in the evaluation of large data sets. Across the curriculum, students will build core technical competencies, including software engineering, data visualization, and applied data analysis, and will apply these skills through hands-on project-based work. Upon completion of this graduate certificate program, students will be able to clean, process, visualize using extended reality, and analyze large batches of data related to industry trends in order to solve complex problems. Students will apply modern data analysis techniques, software development practices, and evidence-based methodologies to design, develop, and evaluate data-driven solutions that address real-world challenges.
